The Selection began with thirty-five girls.
Now with the group narrowed down to the six Elite, the competition to win Prince Maxon's heart is fiercer than ever—and America is still struggling to decide where her heart truly lies. Is it with Maxon, who could make her life a fairy tale? Or with her first love, Aspen?
America is desperate for more time. But the rest of the Elite know exactly what they want—and America's chance to choose is about to slip away.

The second novel to this trilogy has six girl left in the competition.
The love triangle still exists. I got whip lash from sheer amount of times America went from Aspen to Maxon and back again depending on the situation. Make up your mind! America's irritating character went from a naive, ignorant girl to a hypocritical, selfish one. Her actions were never truly thought out and she suffered the consequences.
Aspen seemed too good to be true. Yes his pride got in the way in the first book, so he could not be with America. However, in this book he was just too patient with America and waited for her to make her decision. Prince Maxon's character showed some development as well, but to me his character contradicted his actions in some scenes. I was definitely team Aspen.
The rebels are still attacking but now there are more detailed scenes of what the people in the palace are going through during the attacks. New character introductions as well. Loads of new questions, with little answers. There truly wasn't much that happened in this book. Once again, an odd ending to the book, a little to abrupt. I read this novel because I wanted to know what happened at the end. It wasn't the greatest, most satisfying read.
